    Default Black-throated Green Warbler again

I got a number of frames of this guy in the Maine woods last month, but I think this is the only one where he decided to align himself parallel to the sensor plane. Toned down some bright areas in the BG, and removed an overhanging branch. C&C appreciated.

great detail on the warbler Bill. I like the curve of the perch. BG looks really clean . did you use NR on it?

Thanks Cheryl. Yes, I ran Topaz DeNoise on the BG; and I forgot to mention that I also applied some blur to smooth it out.

Thanks Bill. IMHO I feel it is a little too smooth and I have done this myself many times till someone pointed it out. I think they were right that it looks more natural without so much smoothing but of course personal taste

Lovely bird pose and perch. Good eye on the BG, Cheryl. I just wish the light weren't so high on this one.

Getting an image of any warbler at eye level with a nice perch and a clean background is an accomplishment. This is a fine image of the species and the perch goes very well with it. Wish the light was more diffused or lower angled. Also would have liked to see the body and head angled slightly more towards the light axis, which appears high and slightly to the left, based on the catchlight...

Hi Bill, I like the setting with leafy curved perch, and the warbler posed against the clean BG. You have brought out the feather detail and colours nicely on the warbler.

Thanks everyone. Good comments. Yes, Cheryl and Marina, I think I overdid the blur. I kept tweaking until I thought it looked right, but as I look at the posted image I believe I went too far. And yes, this was mid-day in the woods, with the light coming down through an opening in the trees. I tried to do some dodging and burning to mitigate it, but it's still overhead no matter what. (I hadn't thought about moving the catchlight. )

    Bill,

Spot on! I think the blur looks great and I'm not sure I would have caught on if it wasn't mentioned. Details, saturation, light, all great.

My only nit-pick is the OOF branch on the right side. Otherwise, love it!
