This was taken a couple of months ago at the edge of farm fields around my house. Cropped from a horizontal. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks Gail. The green BG is as shot. I made a mistake the image was taken earlier this month not a couple of months ago as stated.

Wonderful shot. I like the open beak. Makes me want to hear the bird's song. Great light and BG.

Nice job on this shot Jim.
Even though it may not look like it, but for those of you that know, they are very challenging to get a good shot of.
Its not only about the proper exposure but the amount of light and the type of light have a huge play in it, along with the subject being at the proper angle. The red is very easy to blow out as you are trying to get good exposure on the blacks.
This one is captured well and the blacks and reds look great. Nice pose and a nice smooth BG set this up nicely. Well done.

Excellent image. I like front pose with open beak and both eyes nicely visible.
Rest every thing has been said about this wonderful image of beautiful bird.

    Regards,
    Satish.

The light quality was very good for making exposures of this subject. You handled the exp. work perfectly. A bit more background variation than this might have been nice. For head on views of songbirds, though this is not directly head on and that has helped, I like birds that have crown stripes or crests...Very nice image Jim.

Perfect capture of the RWB's "attitude" and classic pose.
