    This was taken the same time as the previous post but he only came out of the hole once so we did the best that we could. Would love to have had more of a head turn but he never gave us that honor. They are similar to the pilleated woodpecker and approximately the same size but the white line that runs throught the face is one of the distinguishing features.

    Hi Judy,
    bummer on the head turn.........but that is one sweet looking bird! If you get another shot at him......a hint of fill flash may make the blacks pop a little more. I sure hope you get another shot because your presentations are wonderful.

    Hi Judy !!! Agree with Roman on the flash fill Would have made a difference in the body Excellent detail and love that foot !!!!

    Lovely bird, agree with your self critique on the head angle, but sometimes we can only wish :)
