    Default Juvenile Great spotted Woodpecker

Taken at my local bird refuge today, this juvenile Great spotted Woodpecker was one of a family of four birds (2 adults and 2 juveniles) who are still together some 6 weeks or so after the juveniles fledged. Probably the youngsters will move on soon.

Love the pose and BG. I especially like to see images of woodpeckers on thinner branches. Light looks a bit harsh.

Thanks fellas, You're right, the light was definitely harsh. Some shots I took on the day were down to -2 EC!

Agree with he previous critiques. I also would have liked a bit better light angle to prevent the shadowing on the face. Very nice perch!
