Will have almost spent about a week solid (12hrs a day ish) with the Little owls who now have three owlets, and which are growing up fast too. Each day in between the photo frenzy (yawn), I try to map out their habits and favourite locations, to then place cameras where possible to get more 'intimate' images. The sound of the shutter is something they have grown up with over the past few months and do not bat an eyelid when it goes off, however this goes to prove, best laid plans and all that!

Processed in the car so ignore and PP points.

I think the owl needs a lesson in proper long-lens technique ...

This is hysterical Steve. I just love it when they feel so comfortable with your presence they can land on you or your gear.

Steve, when you come to SA could you please bring one of these owlets with? It looks like you could easily fit one in your camera bag! Wow, just how intimate one can get with one's subject? Delightful and humorous image, I want a print for my study wall! What's next, a photo of you with an owlet on your shoulder?

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
