Taken at the Anhinga trail in Jan......hadn't observed this behavior B4. This tri color was flying back and forth along the shore and whould stick his beak into the water and try and pull out a fish??? Not my favorite BG or wing position......but showed the behavior well. Mark 3, ISO 1250 at f 10 and 1/4000 sec with the Sigma 300-800 at 648mm.
Comments welcomed and appreciated as well as clarification on is he eating/ drinking or other.
Added pallette behind, slight crop top and front.
Very striking pose Roman and a lovely composition. I like the dragging feet and the inclusion of the leaf as it adds a lovely touch of color and a good balance to the image. Excellent exposure and detail. fine image.
Hi Roman He is actually feeding !!! They stand on the bank and observe the prey "little fishes" If you look in your images you should have some with the fish. Normally they eat it before landing !!!
With no wind and clear water you can make some amazing images of those guys !!!!
Great pose and story. Only nit I see is that the lower right water has ripples that look a bit too regular. This must be here you added palette? Perhaps you could clone water from another ares to make the ripples appear more random?
Hi Ed,
Only about a 1/4 "(visual) on entire right side was added...........now that you mention it though.........I can see where you would think that........but they are natural.
