    Default Varied Sittella

These fast-moving little birds resemble (but are not related to) the nuthatches in the northern hemisphere.
They climb like acrobats up and around branches in perpetual motion, gleaning insects.

    Victoria, Australia. D800, 300 2.8, 1.7TC, f4.8, 1/500, ISO500. Thanks, Greg.

Just a bit better head angle would have put this over the top...but what a fantastic image. The vertical comp works quite well despite the horizontal posture of the subject. Neat perch and beautiful BG.

Hi Greg, never seen this species before, and Im fascinated with the curved beak. Good DOF on the little fellow, and posed against a sweet BG.

That is one neat looking little bird. Love the crazy eyed look to the species. This is also the first time I've seen one so thanks for so such a fine introduction. Nice perch complexities and overall, I really enjoy the composition.
