    Default House Wren And Pupae.

From a few weeks ago, this House Wren was busy providing food for the young inside a nest box. Lots of flies, moths, and green worms...plus this very cool looking pupae. Considering they usually go for live "moving" prey its amazing they know that this is good live food too!

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering 1/250s., f/7.1, ISO 400, natural light, handheld, small crop for comp, toned down the wren's belly, as well as the bill (burn tool), added 25 points of cyan to the yellow channel in "Selective Color" to render the BG as green as it really was. A bit better HA would have been cool, but I like the separation this gave between the pupae and the wren's body.

Nice prey for sure, Daniel. Good BG, the Erich isn't ideal though. Loi

Nice IQ & very lovely BG & food item. Not as good as your usual perfect perches, But still strong image overall.

Lovely light, great pose and super prey. Not one of your weathered Ontario fence posts, but a pleasing image.

Rusty fence looks awesome imo and I like how the prey and perch are color complimenting each other. I also appreciate the subtle variations you were able to achieve in the background. Great image of this wren species. That prey item is cool!
