This is one of two chicks that hatched within the last day , at the common tern colony. It is a very late nest and was outside the roped in area , so it is amazing that it survived and hatched. The area gets a lot of traffic , as it is a public beach. This was cropped slightly for comp. Shot at 800 ISO f8 at 1/800th

What a sweet shot, Joe. Love the interaction, and the protective position of the parent. My eye was eventually drawn to a small blur spot at the far right hand edge at the tip of the wing(?). An easy fix; otherwise no nits. What lens?

Great shot really shows the caring nature of the tern

Very nice shot Joe. Love the good look at the chick and parent and I like the plant in the BG. Techs look great as do the details. Nice one.

Sweet image, Joe. I like the bagging chick and the adult paying attention to its little one.

This is excellent Joe, IQ is spot on. I love how the parent is sheltering the young one.

Very sweet setting, and pose of these two, Joe. The vocalizing of the chick really adds interest. Love your low position and the layers of green.

I really like the moment you captured here and the way the plant acts as a backdrop.
Really nice that you got a catchlight in both birds' eyes,

Lovely interaction, light and environment. It all came together very nicely for you, and I like the calling pose on the chick.
