WOW!! What a gorgeous scene with the silhouetted hills and birds, and I love the intense colors.

Cheryl, this is a wonderful image!! But it doesn't have an embedded profile so I may not be seeing the colors as you do, but I think my browser (Firefox, with full color management set) will interpret it as sRGB, which I assume it is.
The red-orange colors are stunning but the blue in the sky is more washed out than I would expect for after sunset (which I know can be psychedelic there). I wonder if you have played with options in the white balance in RAW conversion? I have the feeling that it should be possible to preserve some stunning oranges and still have bluer skies.
Also, I think the shoreline is probably receding away at an angle, but my eye sees it as an un-level horizon. I'm never sure what to do about those.

Ah, love the colors of Bosque sunsets and sunrises! I love the line of cranes in the fg and all the birds in the sky. The place is definitely magic and I plan on being there this November. I usually go the week before Artie and his crew but we usually touch bases during the weekend between. Are you going to be there around that time?

Hi, Kerry, I'm planning on being there the week before Artie also (for Denise's workshop) so hopefully our paths will cross. I'm going to Santa Fe and some other spots also.

Hi, Diane, thanks for your comments. I went back to the original capture and this was actually taken at sunrise and so that's probably why you're not seeing the bluer skies. This was straight out of Lightroom with no changes to WB and although I could change the WB to get the blue skies it wouldn't have conveyed what I was seeing at the time.
(I just changed the title to reflect the mistake in timing)
