    Default Augur Buzzard Taking Off

This image was the second one of the Augur Buzzard that I posted a couple of weeks ago. I like the pose here, but the side lighting created a strong shadow on the left wing of the bird. Would like to hear your comments.

Excellent timing. The harsh light made it challenging but you did a good job.

This is a hard one Loi!
First of all I am very impressed that you used the 2X from a safari jeep- not the easiest thing to do.
Comp is good and I really like the take-off pose with the talons just lifting off the perch. Nice and sharp and love the wings up.
That shadow really is a problem and I find myself looking at it immediately.Have you tried aggressively lifting the shadow to see if you can get more detail and more light? This is one of the dreaded " if only..." shots!

Hi Loi, Nice pose and timing the only issue I have is with the shadow not much you can do with it since it is so pronounced.

    Hi Loi

I find this a nice image but do find the shadow a little distracting. I think you probably did the best you could in the conditions. Maybe if the wings had been nearer the horizontal there would not have been as much of a shadow.
Still a nice image though, well done.

Very cool pose and my first critique was about the tight crop. But it has kind of grown on me the more I look at it. . Maybe you could try to lighten the shadow a bit

This is a super frame. Wish the crop were just a tad looser. Shadow is what it is. Still a powerful take off image.

Hi Everyone, you are right, there is not much I can do about the shadow.

Hi Marina, I didn't have room on the right and top, only left and bottom. so I decided to add a little more canvas here in the RP just for fun.

Gail, no problem with the 2X on a safari vehicle as long as I had it on a bean bag.

Excellent take off pose you have captured. I like the lights and shadow in this post.
Love the full stretched wings, nice HA, the talons just lifting off the perch and beautiful composition.
    Re pose looks very nice.
