Young birds are among my most favorite birds to photograph with their fresh feathers and interesting behavior. Took me quite a few clicks to get the pose that I was after as he was moving around so fast begging for a fish.

Thank you for looking at my picture and as always for your thougthful comments. I appreciate them all.

Hi Grace, briiliant IQ, and not to mention the soft light. Overall well exposed on the juvie, and of course, the visible tongue takes this up a few notches. The two tone BG works well too.

Terrific light, colors and details, Grace. The calling pose is a huge plus. These guys sure do a lot of hollering and begging when they are young.

The IQ is so good the bird looks alive on my screen.
The catchlight is perfect for the photo, anywhere but dead center would have thrown off the portrait.
Congrats on working for this and how well it turned out.

Nice detail and I like the 'two tone' BG. Good choice of DOF to get all the feathers sharp at close range.
