I used Aquarella on one layer and blended it with the orginal, merged that layer and then used Topaz Simplify on the layer and blended it back slightly with the original.

Beautiful colors. The subtle texture adds a nice flow to the clouds and water.
Hi, Judy, you live someplace that has some gorgeous sunsets! I like the Aquarella look but I think I'd like this a little better if the bottom part with the water were just a little brighter. (Not much, but the bottom half looks a little muddy to me).

Thanks Cheryl. I agree with your comment about the bottom part so I re-worked it from scratch and couldn't get the same result but did lighten it first in ACR and then used Topaz Adjust and took that into Aquarella. Did two versions that were very similar. Used it on 2 layers one in soft light and one normal. I still wasn't satisfied with, did some masking and then merged all layers into one on top and used dry brush filter and lowered opacity using Smart filters. That's most of it anyway!
Wow...that really brought up the drama! I like the additional glow of orange in the water, especially near the bottom.
Thanks Nancy! It was very dark at the bottom and I used several different ways to bring it up some starting with brushing on exposure in Camera Raw. Then I did a lot of experimenting in Aquarella to get a better look without blowing the highlights but still had to not use much opacity on that layer as they were still very bright.
I think the changes have made this even more dramatic -- I love it! Can't it be frustrating when you try to rework something, though, to get the same effect with just a few changes. Don't you just love / hate all the possibilities we have now?
