    Crop for composition and sharpening in CS6. Added a touch of real-estate on viewer's left.

    For me, the clipped wingtip and the OOF bird at the feet really degrade this otherwise excellent capture. Good detail in the whites, pose, sharpness and composition.

    I like the position of the wing and feet position of the bird. The colours and exposure also looks good on my screen.
    The wing isn't clipped it is the way the image is showing in the text window if you zoom out in the browser you will see the whole image.
    I agree that the OOF bird by the feet is distracting for me.

    Ian...clone out that oof bird at the feet of your subject! Just too distracting! Time spent will be worthwhile as this is a strong image!

    I actually did spend some time this afternoon cloning out that other egret but have mixed feelings about removing such a large piece of the original image. As it was so far OOF, it didn't bother me too much. I'm at work tonight -- might post it tomorrow.
