    Richard,

Great close-up of this gull. Sorry to hear about losing your raw file, but nice to know you still had the tiff.

The white on white is great, and I like that you can still see the separation between the bg and the head. I might think about reworking the sharpening on the beak and surrounding feathers - it's a little too much on my screen. Otherwise, this is a killer portrait!

Thanks Miguel, I will have another look at sharpening in that area.

That's awesome Richard! Super concept, amazing details in the whites, and that eye is just so clear! Love the little bit of feather overhanging at the top of the eye. I'd consider doubling the amount of room behind the head (and adding above to retain the ratio) as I feel it a bit tight back there. One of my favorites from you!!

Recropped, reworked, less sharpening to beak area as suggested

Your RP is even stronger than your OP. Love the white on white. The bird really pops and you've done a great job with this one.

    Hello Richard.
I believe the repost looks much better, beak still looks a bit over sharp to my eye but I guess since it is wet, probably is the hightlight what gives the idea of over sharpenning. All in all a lovely image!
