    Default Theme: Arctic Fox

I was taking photographs of Auklets on a rocky cliff, when all the birds suddenly lifted off. It took a while to see why, an adult Arctic Fox was hunting. It wild how well he blended in to the rocks. A few times I lost sight of it and then noticed it in front of rocks.
I quickly grabbed my new point and shoot camera, a Lumix FZ200, it has an incredible 24-600 mm F2.8 lens. Its not a good as a DSLR but works very well in a pinch.

For this image I used Fotosketcher Oil Painting Effect, my go to effect. This software is free and works very well.

I added a Burnt Edges Action....

I processed this on my laptop, so I am not sure about contrast.

    Thanks for looking

What a camo job!! Great moment caught and the filter treatment really emphasizes the camouflage.

The contrast looks fine to me, although the darkest area in the LR draws my eye somewhat. Possibly a little more mid-tone contrast would balance it but for me it would be optional.

The contrast looks fine Paul. That is a beautiful fox and I like your treatment.

I like it just the way it is, Paul, including the burnt edges - they seem perfect with the oil paint effect.

Looks good to me Paul! The effect you chose goes well with this subject. What a great moment to witness!

What an amazing animal! Your processing gives it an ethereal look. really nice.

p.s. Also amazed that there is now a 24-600mm (equivalent) lens with a fixed f2.8 throughout the entire range. How good is the stabilization on this?
