    Default BirdsDay-Birthday Least tern

Finally I got out for a few hours of photography to celebrate being a year older. I had a moment of good light in the afternoon and I managed to get close to this juvi Least Tern.

Happy Birthday! nice low shooting angle. Fun sleeping pose with one eye on the lookout. I could see leaving more room in the frame. Arthur Morris always told me to not let the bird be longer than 2/3 the length of the frame as a general rule of thumb. What do you think?

Love the plumage on the juvies. You did him justice.

Just gorgeous, and I love the pastel colors! It's so beautiful I hate to nitpick, but the lovely in-focus strip of ground has a bit of CCW rotation. My eye wants it to be level.

Thank you for the comments and suggestions. Matthew, thanks and thank you for the idea. I cropped this way after trying different compositions and this was the one I ended up with. However, leaving more room would probably work better.

    Cheers.
