As i was taking this shard of red cabbge leftover to the compost pile, I noticed the beautiful abstract before me. So i set it up in some soft outdoor light and began making photographs. This is one of my favorites . After basic adjustments in LR4 , I used color efex high key to whiten the whites and color contrast to pundh up the colors a bit.

Nice catch in noticing the possibilities - it certainly is an interesting abstract.

Good eye to see this in compost! I rather wish that big white center weren't so big, but nice abstract

Very nice idea, makes a cool abstract and edible to boot. Good OOTB thinking, well done

Great re-purposing...maybe we should have an edible theme! I also think the white center is too large. It is all those nice folded edges that are so interesting.

Bob, the large white area looks like a woman (I see her eyes and her arm sticking out) so I like the white area the way it is. (Actually, it looks kind of like Humpty Dumpty!).

Well, art is where you find it! I like the idea and the image a lot. To me, the center part looks like a steer. The nose is on the left and there is an eye, then a foreleg being held up on the right, and... Well, never mind! I like this.

Cheryl is absolutely right, wow, I see the woman and the arm too! My Goodness, my imagination is running away with your cabbage, I also see the Humpty Dumpty! Perhaps we should have a food photography competition? Well done, Bob! Imaginative and very entertaining at the same time

    Kind regards,
