Hi Grace. Beautiful light on this juvie, and you caught him at full-extension. I love the low POV and the layered BG. Out of curiosity, did you do any cleanup in the horizontal zone to the right of the bird's bill? It doesn't look bad, but the image is so nice that I'm struggling to find something to critique.

Very nice light for this shot. I love the illumination under the head and breast/body. As Bill mentioned the BG is quite nice. I love the color behind the outstretched wing tips.

This is so good I don't know where to start.
The wing extension is about as nice as possible, the light is terrific and the Processing makes it jump off the screen.
I have missed your photo's lately, this was worth the wait!

Killer wing stretch and exposure/details!!! This youngster really pops against that dark BG. I like the little cut at the very end of the first wing tip.

    Grace,

Way to take advantage of the light! Wonderful pose and great warm colors. Big fan of the duotone bg as well.

I want to say it needs just a tad of CW rotation, but no one else has mentioned it so maybe it doesn't.

Thanks everyone for your comments and kind words. Bill, no, I did no cleanup on this image but now that you mention it, I think I will lighten that area in front of the bill. As for rotation, look at the bird's feet. He'd tip over if I rotate it. I think that bottom brown may be throwing you off which I could tweak.

    A wonderful shot.
The light is stunning and I love the low POV.
The full wingstretch is worth a 10 out of 10. I would like to see a tiny bit of CW rotation.
Best part is the hint of a head turn,
    Gail

Wow Grace, thats beautiful. Love the perfect exposure which in turn has brought out the great feather detail. The pose and HA with the catch in the eye add to a killer image. Nice POV also. Very nice!!
