Time for something different... My community had a classic car show last weekend and a friend was showing a couple of cars, so we went to have a look. Of course I always take my camera, and even though I'm not much of a "car guy" I thought I might find some interesting things to photograph. When I started looking at all the cool hood ornaments I was hooked. Now I'm looking for more of these opportunities!

I went to the show at "magic hour" and was rewarded with the magic light of sunset as it was reflected in the paint jobs of the cars. I saw this arrangement of hood ornament and pinstriping and thought it would make a nice composition. I used Nik Brilliance/Warmth to boost the colors a bit.

Hi Kerry, that is one classic buick! I agree, light and the ornaments makes it such a wonderful subject... I really like the darker shade of this steel blue and how it turned out in setting sun. Wonderful perspective. TFS.

Clean and shiny. Great find! I love the matte look of the hood -- must have been matte paint? And the sunset reflection is so clean -- hard not to get a lot of people and BG junk there.

The artistry in the pinstriping is fantastic, the composition is rock solid...I could see this in a muscle car magazine.....well done

I know a big, fat nothing about cars, but this as a design is great! I like the symmetry & the interesting contrast of the matte finish vs the shiny finish. Bringing out that bit of orange from the sunset in the shiny chrome was a great idea that really adds that crowning touch.
