    Default Willet and tongue

Taken a couple of months back at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. Didn't have much going on this day except for the sun and high winds at my back. The high winds helped a bit, allowing the Willets to hover for a while before landing and taking off again. There was a pair of them calling back and forth, and I was fortunate enough to capture one of these calls in flight. The view of the tongue outweighed the non-ideal wing position.

Excellent underwing details, open bill & that tongue. I can see see a little color cast, Maye be this is thew problem of my uncalibrated office monitor.

Near perfect techs Miquel, excellent underwing look, sharp. I would try to lighten the shadow on the far wing just to see how that looked.

Very nice inflight calling pose! I like the comp and wing position, as well as the details. Good job. I agree with Moshen about the color cast. If you have Color Efex Pro, the white neutralizer works very well for this.

This is way too good and not that easy to pull off. I love the open beak due to calling. Agree with the color cast, though I am looking at it on my laptop screen. Very well done!

Killer calling/flight pose. I am seeing a yellow color cast throughout the image.

Thanks guys, I'll take a look at fixing the color cast. Is there a good way to catch a color cast based on RGB values? Just look at a neutral gray (blacks or whites)?

Amy Marques posted this method a few days ago. Takes the subjectivity out of it. I always find I want to put some subjectivity back in, but at least you can start from a neutral image.
