One last Orca photo, a bit closer look. Pretty simple.

Hi Dan - I like the simplicity and again you did well from the boat. I might crop from the top to more of a pano to get rid of the shore and line of brownish water.

Hi Dan, interesting comment from Rachel about going tighter. When I first looked at it earlier this morning my initial impression was exactly that, go tighter, however IMHO having the shoreline actually adds to it, giving the image more expanse of space, if that makes sense? Adding a Levels adjustment say 5 of black, (before it clips) I think adds a bit more depth/richness of colour to the Orca, WDYT? Again, just my thought, but the blue does look rather pushed in saturation, did you up it, pulling that back I think does look more natural, however just my take. Having the 300 with a 2x gave you more flexibility rather than a straight 600, seems you got you 'boat legs' on this one, WD.

Hi Dan, love those Orcas. Steve mentioned already the blue of the water. My thought was go into a deeper blue as the ocean looks! Your taste on this
The comp, details..etc. works very well for me.

    Have a great day

    Ciao

Hi Dan, I like the comp as is with regard to the depth it gives the image. I like the bit of texture captured on the lighter part of the skin, and the simple comp. What very nice orca sightings you have had, particularly from a small craft.

I think that this is my favorite orca image so far of your series, I can see more detail in the blacks but I think Steve's black point suggestion might look good. I like the comp, great stuff HH from a small boat.

Looks lovely - can you give a bit more space behind to allow the full entry splash to show? Like the colours and the composition.
