For some reason, small apertures and I don't get along :( And I tried, but the results were more satisfactory to my tastes with the lens wide open. You be the judge!

    Hi Fabs,
As you know........I'm the exact opposite!............but you continue to show me the "other side". My only recommendation on thes one.....may be to blur/get rid of the antenna going out of the frame.......as it seems too sharp for the rest of the image?????
    I'm trying wide open!!!!..........????

Fabs, love the colors and the munching Katydid. The purple and yellow and the super soft light look great.

The only thing I would change that I think would make the image better would be to crop some from the right to get rid of the OOF back leg.

I give up trying to fit all the legs and antennae when I photograph these guys.

Nice and sharp where it counts Fabs. The beautiful soft BG 'compensates' for the shallow DOF ;)

I think the wide open worked well for this shot.
