    Default Riding the wave!

I had taken this at Morro Bay, CA. The juvenile common loon was happily catching crabs and did not pay attention to my presence! I took this image as it was just about to ride over a wave. For the weekly theme, I only used Topaz Simplify and adjusted the sliders to get this painterly look. Hope you like it...

Hi, Indranil, I like the painterly look. The loon looks very happy

Very nice painting, Indranil, I like that the leg is showing and the wave action. Topaz is one of my favourites.
I might lighten or clone out the wave above the loons back but that just me....I hear there been a juvenile Arctic Loon in Monteray, recently. Might be worth a trip. Nice capture...

Hi Indranil, good catch and painterly filter work. I don't think I've ever seen a loon there before, I'll have to look closer next time! Were you near the strand?

Cheryl, Paul, Kerry, thanks. I appreciate it!

Hi Paul, I will be out in Monterey Bay this Sunday with the Cheesemans for Blue Whales and Pelagic birds... I will look out for the Artic Loon Thanks for the heads-up.

Hi Kerry, I thought it was unusual to see loons there. But then I looked up the website for bird sightings in the area and it seems to be common! It was closer to waters of Coleman drive/south side of the rock.
