Hi Karl. I like the light on this and the detail on the bird is great. I also like the angle you shot at. If this were my image I think I would be cropping some of the perch off from the bottom. It is a little large and overpowers the subject which is quite pretty. I guess I then would take a little off the left for balance.

This is quite a stunner! Love the color palate...the lichen in the rock even matches the BG which is so special. The bird has a super pose and looks great. This comp works for me. While the rock is rather large in the frame, I like where you have placed the bird. I imagine there are a # of different crops you could use that would all work.

Hi Carl, A very pleasing image - nice details and I like the rock as I feel the colors/texture adds interest as well. Agree that different crops may work too but I like this composed as is. -- Allen

Beautiful image of beautiful bird. I like the colors, details and lights. Agree about cropping at the bottom and silver line on the left.

Lovely shot, I would be tempted to go roughly for the ROT to avoid such a large expanse of rock in relation to the bird also having little more space behind the bird would help - was the tail clipped?

    Hi Johnathan,

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. No the tail wasn't clipped, that's just how they are.

    Cheers,

    Carl.
