    Hi Al,

Not an easy image to capture that late. I'm having trouble with the dark spot in the left wing and this is probably due to the better beamer. I quickly noticed I was getting the same effect and I took it off and increased my flash settings. It was nice seeing you all again!

    Hi Alfred,
Looks like you all had a great time!..........originally I was going to say that this belongs in OOTB.............then I read the comments & specs............The blue BG looks a little off (probably because of night).........but the little blue loks absolutely wild! The light through the wings!!!!........maybe the face isn't for everybody........but the translucence (probably didn't spell right) of the wings is way too cool!

Beautiful capture Alfred and I love the fanned tail and the light coming through the wings. The wonderful wing ]spread really makes this for me.

explain to me....."light coming through the wings"
    From that dark sky?

I see light underwings but not from light coming through.....what am I missing.

Asking in an effort to learn

I like how this image shows the unique under wing structure so well. I particularly like the fanning action of the tail. The sky has a nice color to it that accents the bird.

Very unusual and nice image Al. I see a little blue cast on the bird but maybe is just my monitor. Well done

....btw for these type images you can't use more flash since it will turn the sky black. Basically would be flash as main. Since there is hardly any ambient light and what little it is has strange colors. My favorite time of the day to photograph !!!

You basically have two distinct exposures One from the flash for the bird and the other (in camera) will control the sky reproduction !!! ............................ imagine it should actually go in the out of the box but I look at it as normal !!!
