    Default Louisiana Back Road

Shot this several years ago, Canon 5D Mk II -- I like the structure but never could do what I wanted to until a while back when I downloaded Snapseed for the desktop computer. Managed to hit a balance of the settings that I liked. Not sure how well the slight blur effect will show here. I think this is one that needs to be printed big.

But now it doesn't seem to be available for a "real" computer anymore.

Hi Diane....I like this ! i can see the slight blur and it works for me. However the main tree in the center looks to be mostly in good focus with the blur unevenly applied to the the branches on the left. You might also consider adding some warmth to the scene but then maybe you are going for a colder look. TFS

Diane, I really like this! I'm fine with the amount of blur and like the cold look - it seems to go with the blurriness

I was going to say I would tone down the blue...but didn't think about hot and cold. I also like the cold look and the composition. Would make a fine mural. Well Done

Thanks, folks! I have fiddled with the left edge and will work on it some more. Not quite right there. The lighter area needs to be a little darker and more blurred, I think. It competes with the road and large tree too much as a point of interest.

There's a lot of leeway on the color balance. I liked the cool tone as it made things more moody, but masked it back to allow some warmer light on the large tree.

The paint never dries -- can be frustrating!

A lovely scene. Simple and serene. It shows the character of the countryside. I like how the tree and the road balance each other. That is one gorgeous tree! I think there are many possible ways of processing this image. If you stay with this cool, blurred edges tool, I'd tone down the vignetting a bit--to my eye it is a little too dark for the light mood of this photo. As you play with it more, consider sharing again. It would be interesting to see what you come up with. I know what you mean about the paint never drying.

Thanks -- I'll try to work on it more soon and will re-post. I have a bad habit pf loosing track of things I mean to do.

Finally got back to this, and my satellite internet just lost the connection to BPN and ate my carefully composed reply. So never mind, here's the final version -- IF I can manage to post it.

    Thanks for all the comments!
