Two fledgling Western Kingbirds, Camas NWR, SE Idaho. Nikon D7000, Nikkor 200-400mm, f7.1, 1/500, iso 800, Ev +1.33. Must confess, the image was captured by my nonphotographer son hand held from the truck window. The action was on his side of the vehicle. C & C appreciate.

Hi, Fantastic pose, and congratulate your son, who has suddenly morphed from a non-photographer into a good photographer! However to me the image looks rather over-sharpened and over-exposed, even allowing for the high key effect of the sky.

I'm with Richard on the over sharpened, but it is an easy fix. Same with the exposure. You have good details in the white, so can try reduce the exposure. Very nice pose and sharp. LOI

I like this, just go a bit darker for me.
    Cool poses.

    Gary:

The poses, curve of the perch, hi key effect, works well.

My first thought when opening the image, besides the nice shapes, was oversharpened. Bit too bright on the birds as well.

    Certainly worth tweaking.

Congrats to your son for capturing this one. Must be genetic.

    Cheers

    Randy

Tell your son he did a fine job of capturing two nice birds in a good pose. Agree with the above about PP.

Thanks to all for the C & C. The repost is a toned down version.

    Gary:

Gentler sharpening and toning down the brightness has helped. There is a dark area on the left frame edge that is new.

    Cheers

I am liking the third post the best. I think you did great with the overall composition getting both birds sharp and the poses.
