    Un-like the Night Heron from the other day , this one is on 2 legs. Got a few shots this AM before the rain came.

    800ISO f8 at 1/320th manual
    Inc. Reading
    Manual Fill Flash at 1/16th power

    Slight crop off top for better comp.

    Joe,

    Great job with the fill light. Subtle, but effective (especially with the catchlight). Head turn is great and for some reason I really like that I can see the end of the perch. Background leave striations are killer as well.

    Maybe just a tad more room up top.

    Magnificent image . Bird very nicely stands out on green background.

    Nice looking heron, and good showcase pose for the back feathers, which I always like. I also like the water drop off the beak. If you had a little more up top, that might work to balance the frame better (for me), but a nice photo as is too.

    Great shot! Nice perch and background. I thought the crop is a bit tight.

    Very nice, bg is perfect for my tastes, enough detail to give a strong sense of the scene, but not distracting in any way.
