    Default Solitary Sandpiper

Taken during a real foggy spring morning in 2010.
I tried to get close in order to cut through the fog.
Cropped, leveled, sharpened and saved to my "meh" folder.

    Tim,

Send me your "meh" folder, because this would have gone in my good folder! The bird is very sharp and shows well in the frame. Composition wise, I may be tempted to look at a version where the water isn't showing at the bottom.

Also, if you aren't opposed to it, I would clone out some of the circular brighter spots in the water (I see four that would be an easy fix). Otherwise, splendid image!

Nice pose for the bird. Agree with Miguel's suggestions and would also reduce the sharpening of the perch. My eye keeps being drawn there instead of the bird. I do like the tones in this.

Nicely composed Tim! I agree with Miguel's comments on the circular bright spots. I also agree that you can crop in tighter where the water at the bottom is not showing. On the other hand, if there's even more room at the bottom, then include more water, provided there are no distracting elements.

At first glance, I was surprised you didn't crop out the water and make the image tighter. However, I really like all of the environmental elements of this image incl the 2 bits of green vegetation and the water. While I am not a huge fan of making alterations to images, in this case I would remove the white spots.
