    This is one stunning image.
It is so nice that the chick is looking at the parent. Those of us who have had the opportunity to take pics of chicks and parents know how hard it is to get this shot. The chicks are usually moving 10,000 miles an hour and even when they are near the parent there is rarely any eye contact. I also like the clean BG with the hint of green
You also manged to get catchlight in both birds eyes.
Lovely low POV and whites look perfect.
    no nits from me.
    Well done,
    Gail

First, this is just a precious capture, but more importantly, has all the right elements to make this a wonderful story. Well done!

    Mike:

Lovely, intimate image, excellent shooting angle, nice interaction, excellent techs.

You could consider removing the tan shoot behind the adults tail, but it really doesn't bother me, and I looked around the image several times before I even saw it.

    Charming.

Very cute and with very pleasent light. The low shooting angle makes for a very intimate image and brings the viewer into the bird's worl. Very nice indeed.

Great light quality on this tender moment, well composed image. Do my eyes deceive me or is there another chick under the parent bird? I see what looks like another pair of feet...

Absolutely superb image of chick and parent.
I like the poses of both with very very nice HA's. Love the fluffy pose of parent, lights, nice low angle and above all innocent expression of cute little one.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Sweet shot, Mike. All has been said above, but I wanted to add my congrats. Just lovely. I stopped by Plum Island a few days ago on my way home from a family trip, hoping there might be a second brood of plover chicks, but I struck out. Got some juvies from the first brood, but no little chicks.

    Mike, what a perfect shot!
I think Gail summed it up well as to how difficult it is to get a shot like this! I like that the chick was standing on the top of the ridge so we can see it's feet. I think the green of the background also adds to this image. Great fun shooting with you.
