Back again for a visit. Sorry about the offtime, but I did what Kerry did about a year ago and got new eyes. I had cataract surgery in both eyes and today I can see what wasn't there for the last 50 years thanks to renewed sight. It is a revelation and awesome. No more glasses for shooting. ; > )

That said, when I had my second surgery in Tarpon Springs, we also spent a day exploring the maritime locations and great Greek restaurants. One of the images to come from the docks is here. It is a shot of the tug Suwannee, along the Tarpon Springs dock that I processed in Nik, a new program for me.

Modification included Photoshop, Topaz Lens Effects, and Nik B&W with toning.

    Enjoy!

Congrats on the success of your cataract surgery. I remember when my husband finally got new hearing aids and could barely control his enthusiasm with all the nature sounds he could now hear!

The sepia color and the framing fit this image very well. I like how the boldness of the name, Suwannee, comes through. From there my eye follows the sweep of the main deck of the boat and the tires and then into the rest of the image.

Hi, Mark, congratulations on your successful surgery! It makes a huge difference, I know. I think Nancy covered all of the things that make this a nice image. I haven't been to Tarpon for a long while - need to revisit it

I'm glad you got good results with your surgery. I will have to have cataract surgery before too long. I really like your processing and framing. Nik rules!

Thanks all for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.

Cheryl, you need to go if you like marine images. The birds, by the docks are gulls, but the boats are very interesting subjects especially if you take one of the tours around the harbor or into the Gulf. We go often, when we can. The food is also great!

I got very lucky with the surgery, as I happened to request a second opinion as the first one did not have bedside manors that I would trust with a knife to my eye. But St Luke's Institute in Tarpon Springs has two of the world's top eye surgeons in James and Pit Gills. It was a great experience, as surgeries go!

Enjoy NIK, but also still like the Topaz for some of the filters that NIK also has. But still learning, so both are usable.
