Default A small treat from SoCal

I spent the last few days in SoCal with Jim and Doug as guest instructor for West Coast Flight workshop. We covered handhold flight technique and image processing and it was fun! No shortage of challenging subjects to practice. We had some good light this AM and I liked this frame with golden light and skimmer against color.

    Hope you like it

Beautiful skimmer shot Arash. Great light and I always love a non blue BG, so good job. Wonderful exposure and detail also.
Glad you guys got some good light this morning as Sunday morning was less than ideal. It was pretty good this evening though. It was nice meeting you, Jim and Doug on Sunday as I was camping there for the weekend and ran into you guys.

Superb exposure and processing which gives rise to all those details. Great subject and color palette and just enough motion in the very tips of the wings to keep the image from feeling static. There are so many skimmer images out there, this one really stands alone !

Hi Arash, sweet light, sharp, and I eally like the flight pose. Its always great to capture BIF against a different BG than sky. Well captured.

Everything has already been said, so I'll just chime in with "great job"! I love that light and background color. It takes a "tern in flight" shot to another level.

    Arash:

    Splendid: colors,techs, pose, bg.

Only possible area for tweaking, you could try to tease out a bit more detail from the darks on the back wing.

    Congrats.

    Cheers

A very nice bird and wing pose. The morning light brings good memories and I agree with Randy about getting more details on darkest part of wings.
