Not been out for a while so was nice to finally get out over the weekend for some bird photography.

    7D, 500mm + 1.4X, f7.1, 1/1250ss, ISO400. Processed in LR4 and PS CC. Cloned a distracting white rock and cropped for composition.

    Bird looks good.
    Nice low POV as well.
The light is a bit harsh but still OK.
I would crop up to just above your signature to get rid of some of the OOF foreground.

    Simon:

The bird pops very well from the background, sharp, excellent eye.

I am OK with the amount of foreground (for comp reasons), but appreciate Gail's point about the OOF nature of it, and I might try a very subtle lowering of the luminosity so it is less noticeable.

Glad you were able to get out a find some suitable subjects~

    Cheers

Thanks everyone for all the comments. I'll take onboard the advice and hopefully apply it next time. Thanks again.
