    Very nice exposure in soft light. Would preferred to see the bird perched, but you get what you can when you can :)

    Handsome little guy. Nice capture of the subtle irridescent blues in the feathers. I don't mind seeing him on the ground as its something a little different than the usual.

    thanks to all for the comments.

    this little birds are often on the ground to get mud to build their nests, picture of a bird with mud in his bill is on my website.
    I've never seen one on a perch, so I don't know if they do so.
