Because I did want to point the lens up to shoot anything egainst the "you know what color sky" I was waiting for a decent landing shot. Here is one I like.

Very nice detail in the wings and body. The background is really nice.

Excellent Tom Razor sharp and what a bg !!! Might take a little of the bottom for proportion and can only imagine if the wing was full up !!! Love the image as presented Big Congrats !!!!

Very nice landing pose, details and BG, Tom. Maybe crop a little off right and bottom. The head turned more toward you would have been even better but that is minor.

    Tom
The mallards are special and under appreciated. Well done on a nice flight shot...colors, details, and exposure are all right on. Maybe a little cropping for composition.

great image! the crop suggestion has already been made, but i wish i could do this with my 30D (probably is me, but for the flight shots i wish i had a 1d series)

I know what you mean about the skies! I almost forget what blue skies look like. :D

Nice landing image Tom, in most cases I think the birds look nicer against other BG's than sky. Nits already mentioned.

This is a beautiful capture Tom. Exposure, detail and that creamy BG.
