What a terrific image, Ken. Love the throw back and the setting. Blacks look great and it's nice to see those feet.

Hi Ken, a big welcome to BPN, and a great image here. Well timed for the feeding behaviour, and trying to work out if thats the tongue, or a piece of the food he's eating. Yes, the toucan is well exposed, and the colours pop nicely against the smooth BG.

Awesome pose, I assume it is gulping down something? Blacks look great, details good, colours and background very nice. I also like the vertical composition. I do wish you had a bit more room below so as to not clip the hind toe.

    P.S. Welcome to BPN!!

Crazy cool looking bird and I dig the pose. You achieved very good background control here. Compositionally, this feels tight on the bottom of the frame. It seems clear why you composed this way, but it still feels cramped down there. Looks like you had some excellent shutter speed for rain forest photography.

Ken this is a very cool image. Detail is great, love the head angle and that beat up textured bill adds great character.

Thanks to all those who have commented. Luckily I did crop a little around the bird so for competition purposes I can give the space it needs below! The food stuck inside it's bill is banana and believe it or not the feathery, stick like item is it's tongue. I have a better image of this tongue which I will post next.

Very nice shot of this beautiful and unique bird. Good job on the exposure control and the nice detail in the blacks. I agree, it feels a little tight on the bottom, but works in my opinion.
Welcome to the BPN and look forward to more of your work.
