This Dove was a common species around the hotel, quite tame, obviously from the scraps & tit bits it got from messy dinners. One of it's favourite haunts was on the rocks just outside the main restaurant. Oh, and yes, the sea really was that colour.

I dig the ocean background, particularly where it gets darker towards the lower part of the frame. Dove looks excellent all teed up on the rock perch. Smartly composed image. No suggestions for improvement.

Lovely image Steve, great colours and exposure. A little puzzled as to your choice of low ISO and SS? DOF is ok and there is plenty of detail where there needs to be, however a slightly greater DOF may have helped the fade off towards the end of the wing and tail.

Looks quite alot like our Mourning Doves! Awesome dove image with a unique kind of perch for this type of bird. You made the best of it and everything works well. It would have been even better without the OOF rock creeping up behind the main perch in LRC.

    Steve:

Yes, a dove, but a very handsome and well presented one. The perch is just the right luminosity for this scene, would be easy for it to go too bright.

Agree with Daniel about the trailing rock, but not a major issue for me.

BG has just enough tonal variation to work for me.

    Cheers
