This was taken in the Pantanal, Brazil last summer. We only had the opportunity to see tit once and it was in the rainforrest so the lighting was less than ideal but we were able to observe him for about ten minutes which was a real thrill.

    Hi Judy Lynn,
For me......the lighting......and everything else for that matter......work extremely well! I do not mind the dark area at the base of the bird and the rest of the darker areas have enough detail to give a great sense of depth. this one really draws me into it. The Talons on the edge of the opening, put this one over the top for me!

He looks a lot like the Pileated, very nice and sharp, glad you were able to get a picture of him. The eyes are beautiful!

for me, this is wonderful all around. Like the off-center placement.
Just enough light inside to not be totally blocked

did I say "this is wonderful all around"?

This is nice. I like how the lighting on the back wall gives my monitor a 3-D look into his home.

Wonderful woodpecker. I love the talons showing and both eyes. I would love to go to the Pantanal one day.
