Photographed last weekend during the Shoot The Light Plovers & Terns workshop on the north shore of Massachusetts.

I selectively lightened the small piece of debris using Curves to lessen its impact ... prefer not to clone.
Interested to hear if you think it kills the image.

    Mike:

Love your POV, nice angle for sure. Foot up cute, and what big feet he has!

    Soft light compliments his fuzz.

    Nice small in frame comp.

The bit of debris is only the slightest issue to me as presented, not a deal breaker at all.

    Cheers

Terrific shot Mike. Randy has identified my exact thoughts on this one.

When you refer to the small piece of debris are you meaning the darker bit in the oof foreground (not distracting to me at all) or the small highlight just below his raised leg (not a deal breaker but wish it wasn't there)?

    I can live with either...

I like the point of view, the head angle and pose on this cute little guy. The exposure and detail look great too.
This is a perfect shot to show the width of the depth of field with that lens and extender combo. Very cool.
The out of focus piece of debris does not take away from the image in my opinion.
    Well done.

    Hi Mike,
Hope you had a great workshop and wish I had been there!
This is lovely. The best part is that the eye has some light in it. It is so hard to get a shot of these little guys without the "black dead eye look".
Love the little raised foot and head turn.
The debris on the ground is hardly noticeable. Not a deal breaker at all.

This is awesome and is certainly an image that makes a good advertisement for your workshop! Who wouldn't want to photograph this cutie? I like that you are trying to live with not cloning...still, if I were going to print and frame this, I would want the debris taken out...it's just too perfect otherwise. For presenting it in this forum, I think not removing the debris works just fine. I'm struck by how big the feet are. A really good action image of this chick.
