    Default Columbine

I visited an aspen grove that must be a garden of the gods. Wildflowers were abundant and varied with a dense, rich backdrop of vegetative greens. I was so amazed that on my way home I stopped at the local Forest Service Information office to give them the flower info & location so they could share it with people wanting to see Rocky Mountain wildflowers.

With this columbine image I wanted to convey those rich bkgd greens. I used Pixel Bender, oil paint to soften the image, a bit of fractalius to add back some edges, a thin black border from Nik Efex Pro, then Topaz buz sim for a bright, simplified image.

Hi Nancy! This is a very pleasant image to look at. I love the lines in the petals and buds...well processed! TFS

I like the angle to show off the petals, and the simplified lines and colours. Very soft colour of purple too, which I love!

I love the complementary colors and clean lines. Nice discovery that you made and very nice of you to share the location. The background is delicious!

Beautiful portrait of some beautiful flowers, Nancy I like the lines that you got from Fractalius.

Thank you all! I'm heading back to the flower grove this weekend to see what else is blooming.

Lucky you to live near such a treasure of nature--wildflowers. Lovely work in this image. I like the composition, with the Columbine looking up and the three buds framing it at the bottom. The processing is very nice and the colors are gorgeous. I would clone out that one leaf in the lower right corner. What filter in CEP did you use to get the black edges?

Anita, thank you. The black edges in the image are from a very light application of fractalius. The black image border is from Nik Color Efex Pro, image borders.

Must be CEP 4, not 3.
