    Default Squabbling Pied Kingfishers

    Attached Images Attached Images

These two male Pied Kingfishers seemed to be having a difference with each other - probably asking the other to move over. Taken in the Pilanesberg National Park a few weekends ago.

The shiny bits on the perch are fish scales.

What is not to love here. Action, BG, light, superb. Not much you can do with the HA on the bird on the left as they are standing at a different depth.

Great timing Stu, love the exposure and I really like the two toned background. The lighting looks just about perfect - bet you got up early for this one!!

Awesome interaction captured, with dof a plenty to capture it all. I also enjoy the split water/land background lending some context to the scene. Fill flash to balance the ambient light is the only idea that occurs to me when I view this beautiful image...but really there is plenty of detail in the shadows so....

Excellent interaction captured. Very nice details in blacks and whites and so nicely pops up against beautiful BG.
Love the frame. wish HA of one on the left side would little to words viewers.
    Great composition too, Stuart Sir.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Nice behavior and interaction here, STuart. Great light and colors. Might consider a bit off the bottom and a tad more on top.

Super interaction, detail, and background here, Stuart. Perfect exposure.
I like Marina's suggestion, I think that would help give it less of the impression that you're looking up, bring it more to the viewer's level.

The interaction and posture of these birds just great Stuart, I particularly like the outstretched wing of the right hand bird. The birds are nice and sharp, I love the perch and the smooth two tone background.

Wow Stuart, this is very nice. Great job getting the birds sharp and both in the same depth of field, not easy. Beautiful pose from both of them with good head angles and catch lights in both of their eyes. What makes this shot for me is the killer background.
    Very nice interaction shot!
