This one is a male of the Grey winged black bird

I had 2 options to compose this one , one which i have used here and other vertical however i liked this one more

    5D MIII + 400 f2.8 + 2x tc
    ISO 1250 , f7.1 , 1/40

This is a late evening image when the sun had gone under the hill behind my back, i did upload the 1200 version however saw the whole right side was cut off.

    Vishal:

Sharp, and although the head is angled away a bit, still presents well. Perfect crop on the stump, as it minimizes its bulk. The extra room on the left from the horizontal crop probably does balance the mass of the stump/bird better than a more vertical crop would.

Plus of course, he is gazing that way.

    Cheers

love the comp. excellent details & BG. Desaturated the blues a bit to bring out the blacks.

That is a neat and trim looking bird. Love the eye ring and colorful bill. Your exposure work was excellent, yielding plenty of details in the darks of the bird. Details are nicely sharpened. Mottled background noted and appreciated. A fine image sir. The differences between the OP and the repost are fairly subtle, but I do prefer the repost for it's slightly "warmer" look.

Hi Vishal, just love how well you have exposed the blacks in this, and just love the overall light too. Sharpness is spot on, and before reading Girish comment, I also felt there was a blue cast in the blacks. You were there, and I dont know this bird, so it could be accurate as posted.

I love the gentle light on this image which helps to bring out the feather detail as well as enhancing the colour of the beak and eye. I also love the OOF mottled background Vishal.

I agree the thumbnail doesn't do this one justice. Love the pose and the nice light on the bird. Exposure and details are right on the money. I like the original post best.
    Well done.
