Here's another one from the "eye to eye" series (posted earlier w/ a Lion drinking) - a Black Rhino with bovine calm and intense gaze!
He was very swift with his movement and while I wanted to get an in-motion shot, he suddenly decided to halt and stare right into my lens. This is in un-cropped version.

looks quite nice your conversion. That Rhinos right ear has a huge cut. Anyway, the vignette disturbs me a bit. Might would do a bit different, but could not figure out yet how.
Love the low angle. Details are good for me.
Hi Shreyas,
great low perspective with the rhino watching you through your lens.
Overall image looks a bit flat, maybe that is the way you wanted it !!??
By not not being a B/W guru, i would try to remove the vignette and tone down the BG an the FG and let the rhino itself as is , maybe a tad more contrast , to stand out more.
The colour version has a lot going for it and I would definitely explore optimising that version first. The light is sweet and the golden colours set off the rhino well.
If you are set on doing a B&W version, here's how I would approach it (repost attached).
I would go for more contrast and tonal variation.
In the repost I did a double-layer conversion...converting the top layer for the background (reds and yellows filtered out) and the bottom layer for the rhino (reds and yellows enhanced/boosted).
I then used dodging and burning to get more tonal depth on the rhino itself, and added a slight dark vignette.
Hi Morkel, thanks for your input. Although a bit harsh for my taste, but I see your point on enhancing the contrast and tones. Am now thinking of re-working it from scratch with a new PP view-point :-)
