    Default Full moon madness

I've been trying to find something creative to do with the recent full moon. I got a very sharp shot with my 600 II + 2X and Canon 5D Mk III. (Big Gitzo with Wimberley II head, mirror lockup and remote release.)

Drew a blank on creativity and went back to look at some older moon composites and decided to post this one. The moon on it was not as good as the one I just shot, partly due to very clear air this time and partly to a better lens. So I substituted the newer moon for the older one. (I always save master files with all layers).

(Yes, the moon was in a black sky. No, it's not a cutout. Blending mode Screen placed it very elegantly in a blue sky, making the gray parts look like they do when it is in a blue sky.)

Or maybe I should post it in Avian?? It was a lucky shot of the egret as it headed for a tree almost over my head. Luckily I was handholding (probably the 300 f/2.8) and could follow it.

Hi Diane...this is beautiful . i like it alot! The egret pose is perfect and the moon could not be better. Using a blend mode screen is something I am making a note of. TFS

I never would have thought of these two together, so glad you did! Very creative. Unique shot of the egret. Usually shot just standing or flying off....here, overhead, gives a new view. TFS

Great image. Beautiful reversed background and great egret pose. Moon just adds a little more drama.

Diane, the moon is gorgeous as is the egret. I especially like how the egret's wings are embracing the moon

A unique image. Each element is lovely. Thanks for explaining how you got the blue and pink in the sky. Such a creative mind you have!
