    Default Peregrine Falcon In Flight

I'm currently in the Canadian arctic starting a 3 year research project on Peregrines. Up until now I haven't had much contact with this species (especially tundrius), but I'm having an absolute blast watching their unmatched aerial agility/speed. The shadows in this image are a bit distracting but I'm having great difficulty composing images; my BIF pictures have so far been more reactionary than anything.

No cropping on top, just enough on the bottom so that both wing tips are equal distance to the frame's edge.
Highlights dropped a small amount and shadows bumped up an equal amount.

    Sounds like an interesting project.
As for the photo, I think a vertical would look better with more top and bottom.
    open beak is nice.

Pretty spectacular pose, but the harsh light hurt you in this one. Definitely looking forward to more.

Nice rolling over screaming pose from this Peregrine. Nice and clear too but as mentioned, the harsh light wasnt your friend. Maybe try to tame down the highlights on the back a bit and I agree with a vertical comp. Well done and keep hammering away at these guys.

Still a great capture even with those shadows. I hope you'll get some more opportunities with softer light but I already like this shot, good sharpness and nice screaming pose of the bird.

The light is harsh but the pose is excellent.
I wish good luck with your project and looking forward to seeing more images, Erik.

Thanks for the comments and critiques! I'll give vertical a try and see if more post will soften the extremes.
