I had borrowed these dead flowers from a friend about 2 weeks ago and haven't had time to do anything with them. Today I had about an hour of downtime (I'm still in the middle of about 5 different projects) and decided to put them on my Lightpad. I took this image with a 100mm macro, then added a Fractalius filter and a border in Nik Color Efex. I also rotated the original - they had been lying down flat on the lightpad.

I really like the high key look and all the interesting shapes and lines! The yellow and brown combination is great. I need to look into a Lightpad.

Lovely! I'm not sure what a Lightpad is, but I'd bet you could do some interesting things by supporting a piece of translucent plexi above an off-camera flash. Maybe span a large piece between a couple of chairs....

This image has prompted me to investigate the Lightpad. Love the color combo and detail.

Thanks, everyone, Lightpads are great! Mine had been stashed away but during a lull yesterday I decided to drag it out. The one I have is 12x17 which gives you enough space to lay things out and have room on the edges. You can get them online at Amazon or one of the discount art supply stores.

Well, I know how those flowers feel... These are really good subjects for the Lightpad, good idea to give them new life! The color certainly has a lot of life left!

Very interesting photo, and I really like the pure white background.

Lovely results, Cheryl! The best dead flowers I've seen. Excellent work. I love the bright yellow. What size light pad do you have?

Thanks, Anita! The light pad I use has a 12x17 screen. It is much easier to use one this big and it's not that much more expensive than the smaller ones.
