    Default Watercolor Coot

I ran across this image when browsing some of my albums online and thought it would be a good theme candidate since the water was blue and the eye was red, both of which I enhanced, of course! I started over with the Raw image, used Topaz Adjust, added 3 textures, masking the duck a good bit and and saved it. I opened it in Aquarella and let it work it's magic. Opened that in Ps CC and layered it above the one I saved, did some masking and a few other tweaks like toning down most of the very light areas in the water and masking the eye about 100%, about 35% on the beak and 25 - 30% on the body.

Hi, Judy, this is a great idea of the theme! Nice job with Aquarella (another thing I have been meaning to do but haven't gotten around to downloading) and the color enhancement.

Thanks Cheryl! I should mention I used the new radial tool in Lightroom 5 to selectively lighten and saturate the eye, it works great for that type of thing. I've been using it a good bit re-working some recent photos.

Nice job Judy with the Aquarell filter and clever RWB for the theme.

Clever interpretation of the theme Judy. Love the water and I'm a sucker for coots, maybe because I AM one! I get frustrated with most watercolor plugins, this one looks good!

Thanks Kerry! It is a very good watercolor app. I wish it had a little bit more control but opening the image in layers with the "before" version in Ps allows you to bring back detail in spots as desired.
