    Default Greater Flamingo

This greater Flamingo image was created in the Camargue, France. Thank you for your replies in advance, this is the first time I'm posting an image here.

Stunning portrait, the bird pops so nicely against the darker BG. Our greater flamingo are similar, also have yellow eye's.

    Welcome Laurent,
You have a great first post here.
I really like the composition and the IQ (image quality)
The 3 layered BG is very nice as well but I do see a bit of noise and would suggest another round of noise reduction (NR).
Please post your camera, lens type and EXIF info such as aperture and ISO and SS,
    gail

Thank you both for the comments :)

The exif kan be seen on Flickr by clicking on the image but I'll post it in this thread as well:
    Canon 450D + Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 OS + Kenko 1.4 Pro 300 DG handheld
    420mm f/4.5 1/1250s iso 100
shot in raw and processed in LR4

Indeed there is a bit of background noise, this is probably due to the sharpening of flickr on this small version (I originally posted it as a 1600px image on flickr) and the cropping of the image (originally the eye of the bird was in the middle of the frame, because that is the only focuspoint on the 450d that works well enough for moving subjects, this flamingo was walking). I find it hard to judge if there is still background noise on my screen (Dell U2412M), there always seems to be some noise due to the antireflect film on the screen, which I find a bit annoying.

Agree with points above. Striking shot, IQ is great, light is great. I love the sliver of blue in the bottom of the BG.

I love portraits like this! The noise doesn't bother me, but I'd suggest to try to bring out a little more detail in the lightest tones. LR 4 has powerful adjustment capabilities.

Very nice portrait Laurent. good details & comp. the light is great here & brings out the eye very well.
Would also suggest noise removal on BG.
