....But is the perch in the wrong place
Another image of this beautiful sparrow...singing this time. Perch is set up. Audio and food were used as attractants. Canon7d, Sigma50/500os, iso400, 1/640, f9, cropped, removed a piece of moss coming in on the left hand side of the frame, selective NR to background, selective USM to bird only. Image made in Northern Minnesota during the spring migration 2013. Comments and critiques always welcome.
    Regards,
    Shawn Zierman.

Beautiful sharp sparrow, nice open beak. I like the perch, it works nicely. Great BG too.

Hi Shawn, love the singing pose with the slightly raised head and open beak. You have brought out the finer detail of the plumage on the chest area very well, and of course, that BG is sweet.

Its great that you can create a setup and have a great OOF BG behind the setup.

Nice intimate look at this guy. Great singing pose, and handsome perch. Well conceived. It would be great if you could train him to move more parallel to the focal plane, with his tail in view, but I'd be happy with this any day.

    Hi Shawn,
    Very nice image.
I love the perch ( but don't understand the comment about it being in the wrong place. )
I wouldn't mind a bit more breathing room all around but that is a personal issue. I am a girl who likes her space!!
IQ is great as usual and love the light and singing pose,
    Gail

Really nice detail and I also would like a looser crop.
I sort of wish you had moved to the right a few feet.
Outstanding perch set up and attractive BG.

Killer detail in this shot Shawn. Like the singing pose and I think the perch is in just the right spot:) I like the tighter comp as it highlights the detail in the feathers and head. Nice setup
